SwiftAssess is integrated with a world class Desktop Secure Browser that many major systems in the world use (including Desire2Learn, Blackboard, etc…), and it’s called ‘Respondus LockDown Browser’. This browser guarantees on both Windows & Mac machines that students won’t be able to do exit the browser or perform any shortcuts or cheating while the exam is on, until the student submits his exam and the browser exits accordingly.
Here you’ll find the up to date minimum requirements as mandated by the 3rd Party vendor. Below is a summary at the time of writing/updating this document:

Browser Pre-requisites
Respondus Lockdown Browser uses the native operating system browser engine to render the assessment in its environment. It uses “Safari” for Mac devices or “Internet Explorer” for Windows devices.
For that purpose, browsers must be configured with the minimum requirements as shared in this document’s Desktop Browser’s section
Windows Users: If Compatibility mode is enabled, it has to be disabled in order for the browser to render the content correctly in the exam. Otherwise, unexpected or faulty rendering would result in an interrupted session for the examinee.
